society in crisis: from “We” to “Me”

In my 66 years, I have never witnessed a time with so little strong leadership and so much chaos—crisis after crisis after crisis. Our society feels frighteningly unstable, spiralling out of control.

What saddens me most is the shift from a vibrant, enjoyable “we-we” culture I cherished between 1959 and 2000 to today’s crumbling “me-me” society of 2025. The sense of community, shared responsibility, and collective joy has been replaced by isolation and self-interest.
